Mindfulness Based Counseling (MBC) was developed by Randall Sokoloff. MBC combines psychological counseling with mindfulness meditation training.
The fundamental goal of MBC is to help individuals integrate mindfulness practice into their daily lives. As a result, individuals will create more self-regulation, focus, awareness, resiliency and self-efficacy. In many instances, mindfulness can be used as an alternative to medication.
MBC describes mindfulness in practical and applicable terms so that individuals can get results from mindfulness practice in a much quicker period of time than it would take on their own.
At least four consecutive sessions are suggested.
